John Deere H

The 1943 John Deere H tractor was purchased from a mechanic who loved green in Abilene, Kansas, during a tractor show. My wife holds her breath anymore when I go to a tractor show . . . I don't know why! This "Johnny Popper" was a basket case because the previous owner was redoing it and had just overhauled the engine and then wanted to sell it because he was getting a divorce. After determining how the parts went back together, along with realizing that I had to locate some missing parts, the tractor finally took shape. After completing the mechanical aspects of the tractor, a new set of tires was installed. A new paint job, along with new decals, made this tractor look like new. The tractor took me approximately five months to complete.
